- Old Jaffa—First and foremost, we recommend a trip to Old Jaffa. It is a beautiful port town that offers plenty of things to do. Its beauty makes for fantastic photo opportunities, and it’s very relaxing to walk along its cobblestone streets while taking in the quaint boats tied up in the harbor. You’ll also find plenty of shopping and art galleries, making this one of the most diver things to do in Tel Aviv.
- Local Food Tour—To get a taste of the local cuisine, take a food tour. You’ll learn about the culture of Tel Aviv’s different neighborhoods, as well the origin of many Middle Eastern foods. For all you foodies, this should be at the top of your list of things to do in Tel Aviv.
- Museum of the Jewish Diaspora—There are also many great museums in Tel Aviv. The Museum of the Jewish Diaspora, located on the campus of Tel Aviv University, documents the history of Jewish people throughout the world. You’ll get a get sense of how a wide array of cultures combined to for the Israeli nation, making this one of the most historically enlightening things to do in Tel Aviv.
- The Palmach Museum—This museum offers a unique interactive experience, where guests (appointment required) get to follow a unit of the Palmach forces who helped form the Israel state through a series of training exercises and missions.
- The Hagana Museum—In a similar vein to the Palmach Museum, the Hagana Museum chronicles the history of the military organization that was the early version of the modern Israeli Defense Force.
- The Bet Rubin Museum—The Bet Rubin Museum is an ode to one of Tel Aviv’s own artists who painted his images of the city as he watched it grow from his window.
- Camel Riding—If you’d like to go on a camel ride, Israel is a great place to do so. Book a camel tour in Jerusalem, which is only about an hour away from Tel Aviv. Touring this Holy Land is one of the things to do in Tel Aviv that shouldn’t be missed.
- Sunrise at Mt. Olive—While you’re in the area (either on a camel’s back or otherwise), the sunrise from the peak of Mt. Olive is a truly remarkable sight. One of the most inspiring things to do in Tel Aviv is take in this sunrise, and consider all the turmoil and history that has occurred over this very spot.
- Gordon Beach—For some fun in the sun, head to Gordon Beach. Although it requires a small fee to gain access, you’ll benefit from very clean sand and well-kept facilities. This beach is popular with families, so it’s one of the great things to do in Tel Aviv with your kids.
- Bindi Bar—When the sun goes down, Tel Aviv’s partiers come out, and there is no better place to experience this than Bindi Bar. It is Tel Aviv’s place to see and be seen, and you can be sure that the crowd will be dancing and the music will be loud.
